It is sponsored by the Red Cross and involves 2-4 hours of online training, the in-person class on April 18th, and a final written exam. You do not have to take this specific class to qualify as an emergency worker but must take a certified course from the Red Cross, American Heart Association, the Health and Safety Institute, or the Medic One Foundation and must include an in-person component. If you are getting your Emergency Worker status for the first time, the cost is $39 and will be collected when you get your on-line materials.
