  • Introduction to managing your radios for emergency communications.

Registration is closed

Mihai (W4MHI) will present a practical introduction on "know your radio".  Radios can be walkie-talkies, GMRS radios or ham radios.  It covers what you need to know and do in case of an emergency, so bring your own radio.  Hopefully, by the end of the session, you will be able to:

1. Know your battery is charged and your radio is usable.
2. Know how to manually program your radio to tune into the frequency that is being used by the EmComm group in charge (may not be Issaquah).
3. Have documentation, which you will assemble, to help remind you of what you may have forgotten.
4. Ask any questions you may have about your radio, antennas, batteries, etc.

Class will be at PWO on Saturday, August 10, and begin at 9:00.  There will be about an hour of lecture, then the class will break up to program and document your radios.  Groups are encouraged to attend so that group "wisdom" can help out in a real event.  Members of ICST will join us as "elmers."  Don't forget, bring your own radio.  Class will end no later than 12:00 PM

Please register so we will know how many to expect.  Class size will be limited to 30.
