How do I obtain a ham (amateur radio) license? In order to obtain a ham, (amateur radio) license, you are required to pass a test. Classes are offered throughout the Puget Sound area to provide training to obtain an amateur radio license and administer the test. If you pass, you will receive a certificate before you leave (you do have to wait approximately 10 days before receiving you call sign, though, from the FCC). The classes are usually over two days and may require a small fee to cover costs of administering the test(s) required to obtain your license. How do I obtain a GMRS radio license?
In order to obtain a GMRS radio license follow these instructions.
First, if you don't already have one, you need an FRN or FCC Registration Number. Use this link, FCC Registration - Login and click on REGISTER. Fill in the registration, record your username and password and click on Create Account. You should receive it immediately, but you may have to wait to receive something by email or snail mail.
Once you have your FRN, use this link, https://wireless2.fcc.gov/ulslogin/?utm_source=copilot.com, to start the licensing process.
