This is the second in a series of workshops meant to prepare CERTs who are interested in emergency communications (EmComm).

At the first workshop, most of the time was spent reviewing EmComm in general and the settings that are most necessary to understand for programming your radio.  Those who attended were given examples of "index cards" for two different types of radios and a blank so that they could review their radio(s) and set it up for their personal use.

We had a second session for those who wanted more clarification of the settings, but attendance was light which means most of those who attended absorbed the information or knew the material already.

If you were unable to attend the first or second session, don't hesitate to come to this one.

This session will focus on you setting up your radio for common situations and form ICS-205 which provides all the information you will need to be effective in any activation requiring you to use your GMRS or ham radio.  We hope to minimize any lectures or slides and focus mainly on you setting up and testing your radio.

We will delay a session on computer programming until after this one, but plan to get to it once everyone is comfortable with manual programming.

If you plan to attend, please register, to give us an idea of how many will be there, by clicking the Register button at the beginning of this email.  Bring your own radio(s), your index cards and something on which to take notes.  There will be additional blank index cards if you need any.  Email Bob Otis if you have any questions.
